The Dev Team, Comex in particular, released the “legal” jailbreak of the iPhone 4 yesterday (which also supports iPhone 3GS, 3G , iPad, etc.) and what makes this release significant is the fact that it doesnt care which bootrom you have. Yes, it supports all bootroms which made the previous jailbreak process next to impossible.

I, unfortunately, was one of the ‘lucky’ ones to get a US-spec iPhone 3GS with new bootrom and as if that wasnt enough, SHSH blobs werent saved for this phone – tough luck for an iOS4 jailbreak and much more for an unlock since the only unlock solution resides in Ultrasn0w, an app only available on jailbroken iPhones.

The jailbreak is also web-based with a slick GUI meaning it can be done without restoring your precious device, reducing the effort even more to break the Apple shackles loose.

So now, I’m definitely a happy bunny. As for the blackberry service suspension… mmmmm.
